World Music Series 2011 concludes

Watch Khaira Arby from Mali perform "Goumou" from her July 27 World Music Series concert at Colorado College. Luísa Maita closes the series tonight.
World Music Series 2011 wraps up with a free concert by Brazilian singer Luísa Maita. Sultry, seductive, and infused with that inimitable samba swing, her music embodies the modern spirit of Brazil.
Maita, a native of the Brazilian mega-city São Paulo, has been surrounded by music since birth. Her father, Amado Maita, a singer whose one debut solo album from the 1970s is a coveted vinyl collector’s item, named all three of his daughters after songs by bossa nova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim.
The show, brought to you by KRCC Concerts, is free. However, a nonperishable food donation to Care and Share is strongly recommended.

Rockrimmon Library undergoes makeover

Rockrimmon Library, located at 832 Village Center Drive, was recently closed for facility and technology upgrades that added more seating and will soon result in faster Internet access. The teen area now has more space and adults have a new reading area near the windows. The project was funded by Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District and Friends of the Rockrimmon Library.

Join us for the grand reopening as we celebrate the new look of the Rockrimmon Library on Saturday, August 27 at 10 a.m.
