Holiday fun at PPLD!
Pikes Peak Library District has plenty of free holiday programming for all ages in the coming month. Some of our recurring Storytimes will include holiday selections like Calvin’s Christmas, read by Connie Black in the PPLD TV video above. (You can check with your local library for more information on Storytime.)

In addition, the Library will host many special holiday events. For a list of these special events, click here.

Writer's Corner consolidates resources for scribes
PPLD has a new addition to the Subject Guides section of ppld.org called Writer’s Corner. This new guide will provide information for the budding writer, including:
  • A link to our subscription databases, all of which can be used for those doing research for your work of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry.
  • Recommended Websites covering many aspects of writing, including grammar, structure, writing practice, publishing, and marketing.
  • A listing of books that PPLD has in its Catalog that will be of use to authors and writers.
  • Local Authors Database
  • PPLD Writing Groups

To access this new page, visit ppld.org and click on By Subject, then Writer's Corner.

Get great gifts at holiday book sale

Find the perfect gift at a great price from the Friends of the Cheyenne Mountain Library. They will be selling Better Books (in pristine condition), holiday titles, and “book bows” handcrafted from pages of discarded books to adorn your special gifts. The ultimate recycle, they are made by Friends volunteer Linda Schwarz and include a tag to let you know what book they came from. (The example at right came from a book about Claude Monet.) There will be a limited supply of these bows.

Also, Mrs. Claus will be making an appearance immediately after the sale at 2 p.m. for a special storytime that includes puppets and cookie decorating.
