| Opposing Viewpoints in Context |
Opposing Viewpoints in Context is the premier online resource covering today’s hottest social issues, from Offshore Drilling to Climate Change, Health Care to Immigration. This subscription database is free for PPLD cardholders living in our tax district (your card number must start with a 4). It helps people research, analyze, and organize a broad variety of data for conducting research, completing writing assignments, preparing for debates, creating presentations, and more. For more on this database, you can watch the PPLD TV-produced video above.
Speaking of opposing viewpoints, liberal activist Terry Marshall and conservative cartoonist Chuck Asay recently collaborated on a novel entitled Soda Springs: Love, Sex, and Civil Rights. They do agree on one thing: fiction can speak more powerfully to truth than fact. On November 8, they will give a talk that will draw upon the novel and catapult participants into a fresh understanding of a range of perspectives on issues relevant today. | Calling All Poets!
Now is the time to submit your original poems to the Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Project for the next Poetry While You Wait poetry booklet.
